There are so many impressions and impulses from nearby and afar arriving in a single day. Observing them by close gives you a field of a multitude of flowers.

Calls and e-mails from friends living overseas, requests, answers, notes. What is distance, what is nearness? An attentive awareness takes in and transforms into presence.
In the last times I witnessed a few cases where friends came into a burnout. Certain patterns seemed me to be similar: Over a long time there had been quite a commitment to a voluntary activity. With the time the work load had increased, and they felt responsible for running the activity they were committed to, and also for the general situation around the activity. Were there signs of a “helper syndrome”? Difficulties were overcome with enthusiasm, which, with the time, mixed with frustration and exhaustion. Suddenly they drew back from their commitment and the related contacts. I suppose, followed by a crisis. A case of compassion fatigue?
There is an underlying structure: A pendulum in motion swings from one side to the other. An over-activity leads in the long run to an under-activity. Only an inner equilibrium can also create an outer balance. In the wisdom teachings, such as those of Pythagoras, the over-activity is called an acute angle:
the under-activity an obtuse angle: 
and the well-balanced activity a right angle:
When you are in the acute angle, you tend to overdo things, even with a good motive. Aggression, haste, nervousness cause a state of tension. When you are in the obtuse angle, you tend to be late in doing things, being slow in understanding and acting or reacting. Both angles are counter-acting. In the right angle, you find the middle path of an adequate reaction. In order to be balanced in a stable way, you need to be well aligned vertically, meaning in a stable connection with your inner, the soul or the higher self, and active horizontally, into the world. In the sign of the equilateral cross you see four right angles, having a stable stand in the world:
In this position you are unlikely to fall victim, even of a burnout. A burnout means that before you have burnt. The burning fire is the symbol of life force. At Easter they use to burn fires as a sign of new life coming with spring, or with the resurrection. Today one year ago I set up the blog software and started blogging from March 31st, 2006 on. Looking back I’m astonished about the evolution it has taken, the multi-facetted spectrum of blogposts. The idea however, is still the same: Creating links between everyday experiences / information and the experiences / information from the teachings of eternal wisdom. This is for me a very interersting dialogue – and it seems for blog visitors, too 🙂

I yesterday got a call on Skype from a stranger, which I didn’t answer (I have marked in Skype that by principle I don’t answer directly calls from strangers, but ask them to contact me first via e-mail), but switched over to the instant messaging mode. The following is the translation of the session log from this strange conversation:
X: I would like to talk with you about the Avatar of Synthesis.
Answer: What do you want to know?
X: Whether you know already the recipient of the Avatar of Synthesis, for I suppose I am the recipient of the Avatar of Synthesis. I want to prove it. I hope I can do this. I also have a prophecy.
(Here he sent me a link to a web IP-address, where he had published his ideas. I found them a bit disconcerting and confuse.)
Answer: According to my understanding, the Avatar of Synthesis has many recipients, that is all who call on him.
X: Mhh, o.k. … as you think. But I have directly received these 4 things, which can be found in the basic knowledge of esoterism.
Answer: Many people receive many things and relate them with the mental conceptions they have.
X: I have searched for a long time on the internet for my extrasensory perceptions. Do you want to have a look at the website?
Answer: No, not necessarily. There is so much junk on the web, I don’t have the time to view it all. I better concentrate my energies on something constructive.
X: O.k. – you don’t really believe in the Avatar of Synthesis.
Answer: I only notice that we have a rather different understanding of the Avatar of Synthesis.
X: Yes. I would like to be able to convince you.
Answer: I don’t want to convince you.
X: You don’t want to convice me?
Answer: No. On the spiritual path it is not a matter of convincing others according to my understanding.
X: I will give you a prophecy, but not today.
Answer: Then I feel myself compelled to interrupt here the dialogue, sorry.
X: In some months something will happen. I even have the exact date.
Answer: It doesn’t interest me.
X: O.k., ciao.
Answer: Ciao.
I my life I have come across several persons claiming to be spokesmen for sublime beings. It all sounded to me like big ego-boasting, creating confusions with people and distorting spiritual conceptions. The genuine teachers I have come across never did such boasting and never were proselytising.
For me the Avatar of Synthesis is a most sublime concept of a profound energy and being working for the transformation of life. You might read a bit more about it in the Lunar Messenger on “Meditation for the Aquarian Age“.

A friend wrote a me a few days ago that at the moment her children are all going through an intense flue. On my inquiring about a remark she made she mentioned that she has gone through difficult times in her life. She has experienced a miscarriage and a death of a child at premature delivery. Also at her own birth she nearly had died. She wrote: “These are deep, far-reaching experiences, some kind of an acid test in order to change a dimension.”
Many people would feel washed-out and would quarrel with destiny, when they have to go through such blows of fate. She wrote: “I went so deep that I wanted to die.” The crises shook her and mobilised her energy. Thus they helped her to awake and to activate her aim in life. “Now I am thankful and full of joy for having lived this life.” Her energy is really impressive and inspiring, and she is expressing a deep, practical sprirituality.
I have encountered several persons in my life who said it was only through a deep crisis that they opened up to the spiritual dimension in life.
Inspired by spiritual topics dealt with on the Good-Will website people sometimes write questions. So a person asked a few days ago: “What about apparitions of Jesus Christ, of his personal messages? Messages of the Holy Virgin Mary and angels in dreams? Or about certain masters or just dreams about the god Thot?”
Sceptical people with an intellectual attitude generally mock such experiences or rationalise them away, whereas esotericists indulge in fanciful hypotheses. There exists an ocean of channeled messages, and many people flock to supernaturalist phenomena like moths to the light. However the “livecycle” of their interest is generally just a few months or years, before other things occupy their attention. There is not deeper transformation of character happening.
The answers the wisdom teachings give belong to neither of these two parties. They might be desillusioning to those who are attracted by a craving for sensation. However, they might also give explanations to an agnostic, but open mind in search of a deeper understanding.
The teachings say that there are many persons claiming to have contact with Jesus, Maria and all kinds of masters and that each strong concept forms a thought form on the mental plane. People can contact these thought forms loaded with a lot of devotional emotion when they have a certain affinity and sensitivity, this also during sleep hours. This has nothing to do with a certain degree of spiritual development, but with the openness of certain subtle energy centres. The mental plane is full of imaginations created by man, and on the spiritual path it is regarded as some kind of a “cinema”, which might be fascinating, but mainly illusionary.
The real inner contact with masters of wisdom or other sublime beings happens in silence, without publicity, and expresses in an inspiration for a work of service to the well-being of mankind. It demands a cultivation of character, a purity of the personality. If someone has visionary experiences, in dreams, meditations or during the wakeful hours, it is good to observe them and note them down in a diary, and also to observe their quality and impact on one’s life. This way you feel what this “gift” is telling you – and you leave away all kind of proselytising others.
If people claim having certain visions or contacts, the best is to observe them and their character without any sensational attitude or curiosity, but with a good sense of discrimination. The energy of a “message”, of a dream or a possible apparition is the proof if the underlying impulse is a genuine spiritual one or a cloak for more or less subtle personality glamour. Running after phenomena leads nowhere except into the jungle of opinions and irritations. Genuine spiritual experiences blossom from an impulse received in one’s inner being.
Reading in the booklet “On Change” by K. Parvathi Kumar I came across three sentences – some food for thought:
At my job as well as in group cooperation of voluntary work I often experience that myself and other people tend to get frustrated if their point of view is not included in “hierarchical” top-down decisions, from the “more important” to the “lesser” people. The “upper ones” tend not to perceive the perspectives of the “bottom”. It demands often a much greater effort to include than just to dictate. But the danger of dictating is that I feel estranged and lose my commitment, resulting in inner emigration and anger.
I’m trying to learn to directly speak about delicate points. I just read an article in a magazine about Jakob Kellenberger, president of the ICRC in Geneva and former diplomat (see blogpost), that he is is always speaking cleartext in negociations: “I always directly start speaking about the problem. I am convinced if the other has the impression that you don’t dare to speak about the difficult points he thinks that you don’t feel confident with the matter or you fear confrontation.”
It’s the month of Aquarius, and you might feel quite some strong energies of change in the air. At work I experienced again winds of change, with a collegue in my team leaving and the new one beginning, and the second just also gave his note of leave to start something new. Space is considered to be like waters, because it is full of light and waves. The ancient seers therefore spoke about the waters of space, whose manifestation on the physical plane is water, the basis of life on earth. Two hours before leaving for the flight to India. Answering last mails – from the States, France, Switzerland, saying good-bye to friends… A little tension is in the air, and the night was was a bit turbulent with dreams. Normally I’m sleeping very well, and it is not at all the first flight, but somehow it is a time of great changes – where might they lead? (: See the presentation of the beautiful new booklet On Change, by Dr. K. P. Kumar).
Just before I left my office, a web-developer of my team phoned me to tell me that he wants to make a time out and sign off. The other web-developer also resigned just for the end of this month (see blogpost). Fortunately a very good other person showed up who will start in 3 weeks. On several other levels there is also a lot of change going on. I wonder what the retreat time in India will bring.
Winds of change are blowing.
The last 7 years I had been able to participate in the annual retreat seminars of the World Teacher Trust (WTT) in India, under the direction of Dr. K. Parvathi Kumar, my spiritual teacher. And in two days, I will “jump” again across the continents via Dubai and Hyderabad to the city of Visakhapatnam, at the Gulf of Bengal.
I very much love the cordial and inspiring atmosphere of these meetings in the retreat centre of the WTT. A group af about 40 people is normally coming from different parts of the Western world to enjoy the meditations and the deep and brilliant talks of Dr. Kumar on the teachings of eternal wisdom, full of humour and profound knowledge. And we have also been doing excursions into the surroundings to WTT projects like the Planetary Healing Centre:

Most of the participants come there every year, so that it is really a friends’ meeting. The climax of the retreats is always the participation in the Guru Pooja celebrations in Simhachalam, a village with a very old temple compound in the surroundings of Visakhapatnam. These celebrations are done in honour of Spiritual Hierarchy, and about 3-4000 members of the Indian WTT brotherhood are coming for these meetings. Here is a picture of a fire ritual 4 years ago:
This year however will be quite different, since our teacher had to undergo a surgery 2 weeks ago. Since he is in the process of recovering, he won’t be able to conduct the seminar. The group is nevertheless meeting there and besides the celebration we are going for a little tour, which has been organised by our Indian friends. So there might be no blog entries before the end of the month – unless I find time to write some thoughts from an internet café…
