22 July: 75th birthday of Mother Krishna Kumari
It is for our inspiration and upliftment that we remember and celebrate the birthdays of great souls. They are like guiding lights and their example keeps on inspiring us. They give us strength, support us on our path and help us align with our soul.
One such great soul is Mother Krishna Kumari (22 July 1951 – 17 April 2020). On 22 July, we celebrate her 75th birthday (Indian counting). She was the wife of Master Kumar. For about 50 years, they were working together, having married in 1972. She gave him strength and support in his activities and accompanied him on many journeys. She was a loving mother of two children and she created a warm ambiance of welcome and motherly care to many of the people who flocked together in their home and in the WTT.
I met her many times, in India and in the West. She was engaged in activities of goodwill, esp. in food distribution. She was present and protective but she never put herself in the spotlight.
Her biography, “A Mother to Many”, written by her son Guru Prasad, gives insight into many facets of her life. It is available in 4 languages (PDF): English (Print version), German, French, Spanish.
Thank you, dear Kumari-Garu for all that you had given to us with your profound love.
