Transforming Struggles into Strength

Thursday, August 22nd, 2019

An Indian friend sent me a touching WhatsApp video which I also found on YouTube. The speaker, Radhanath Swami, is an American ex-hippie, a monk of the “International Society for Krishna Consciousness” (Hare Krishna movement) and today a spiritual leader who has done a lot of work in India for the very poor (read the interesting bio-details on Wikipedia).

It is an inspiring talk about Sindhutai Sakpal, an Indian social worker and social activist who has devoted her entire life to orphans. Both, Radhanath and Sinduthai, have made their way out of “nothing” to become great servers.

The video is an extract of a longer lecture at Cambridge University about “Influence without Affluence“.

Some Photos from Shamballa

Monday, August 5th, 2019

A friend of mine from France told me that she is now going on a journey to Mongolia, also to meet shamans. When I asked her to bring back some nice photos, she replied that she had already been there in 2013 and, “Here some photos from the sacred place called Shamballa.”

Photos from Shamballa (also spelled Shambhala, the White Island) I thought? I had written blogposts about this mythical place, also about parallels in the African language Kikongo; I had done several paintings about the glory of Shamballa and composed some texts on the basis of the Wisdom teachings; however, Shamballa, the seat of Sanat Kumara, is a place in the etheric plane in the area of Mongolia, near the desert Gobi. It is invisible for the normal eyes, but visible for people who have gained the etheric vision.

These photos were not something etheric but of a physical place. So I googled for “Shamballa Mongolia” – and found many similar photos of a place called the ‘Khamariin Khiid Monastery‘, or as it is called in Wikipedia, the ‘Khamar Monastery‘ in Mongolia.

Tripfreakz.com has an article about the background of this monastery in the south of Mongolia (“The mystical Shambala of Mongolia“), where they explain that in the beginning of the 19th century there lived Danzanravjaa, a Mongolian monk of the Red Cap Sect, who was very gifted and regarded as a reincarnation. He gave many predictions and also instructions on where to find Shamballa. At the vicinity of this place he erected a monastery in 1812 (or 1820 according to other sources, Wikipedia) near the town of Sainshand in Dorno-Gobi-Aimag  in the eastern Gobi. It was destroyed by the Stalinists in 1937, who killed many of the lamas. Danzanravjaa also predicted the date of his death; he was poisoned by his wife in 1856. Legend tells that he knew he was going to be poisoned, but he took the drink to fulfill his destiny.  The current monastery was built after the 1990 Democratic Revolution in Mongolia.

You find the place on Google Maps, even with Street View of the surroundings, and there is a nearby round structure on a mountain called “Energy Centre“.

I told this my friend asking if I can use the photos for a blog-post, and she said yes:

“It is necessary to make this place known to people in search of spirituality. It is not a place for tourists !!!! although the visit can make them evolve. It is a magical place in the Gobi Desert. For me it is not the real Shamballa which remains mysterious and inaccessible to humans for the moment. Maybe I’m mistaken. However, everyone talks about it like Shamballa and in any case the vibrations are very strong and it doesn’t explain how I felt.”

Yes, this centre seems to be a physical reflection of the etheric Shamballa on the subtle planes. A physical Shamballa structure can be destroyed by attackers. The spiritual reality of Shamballa, however, is indestructible. It is the highest world as per the living beings on this earth, the plane of pure existence and of perfect knowledge existing in us as the diamond consciousness in the head centre.

So this Khamariin Khiid Monastery in Gobi desert can well be regarded as a body of the reality of Shamballa.

Here are some more impressions from my friend’s journey:

8th May – White Lotus Day, the day of the passing of Helena P. Blavatsky

Friday, May 4th, 2018

The 8th May is celebrated as ‘White Lotus Day’, in remembrance of Madam Blavatsky or HPB, as she was called by her friends. In his discourse on 8 May 2016, Dr. K. Parvathi Kumar said:

“On this day, Madam HPB passed over in the year 1891 and after the departure, she attained a permanent place in the Ashram of a Grand Master in the Himalayas. Grand Masters themselves declared this day as ‘White Lotus Day’ because to fulfil their grand Plan, Madam HPB was born. She was a highly pure soul which can be compared to a white lotus. It is said that there was no other being as pure as her, at the time when she was in a body. She went through lot of hardships in her life and worked towards the establishment of truth and Divine wisdom on the planet. It is considered a highly difficult task because it is the age of Kali and lot of lies was spreading around and the messengers of Kali were very powerful in their work. Through her, the Divine wisdom spread all over the globe.
So on this day, we should recollect her. She keeps giving her presence to all groups which aspire to learn and practice the path to Divinity. She has a body of light and she is always prepared to grace sincere aspirants. She was given the title ‘Upasika’ by the grand Masters. It means she was highly devoted to the Divine and his work.”

Here is a text extract of HPB’s book “From the Caves and Jungles of Hindostan“, where she speaks about her encounter with Master Morya, her teacher, whom she called there the “Thakur” or “Gulab Singh”. Have a good White Lotus Day.

“The Thakur went on smoking, and as for me. I sat on my folding chair, looking lazily at everything round me, till my eyes rested on Gulab Sing, and were fixed, as if by a spell.

“Who and what is this mysterious Hindu?” I wondered in my uncertain thoughts. “Who is this man, who unites in himself two such distinct personalities: the one exterior, kept up for strangers, for the world in general, the other interior, moral and spiritual, shown only to a few intimate friends? But even these intimate friends do they know much beyond what is generally known? And what do they know? They see in him a Hindu who differs very little from the rest of educated natives, perhaps only in his perfect contempt for the social conventions of India and the demands of Western civilization…. And that is all—unless I add that he is known in Central India as a sufficiently wealthy man, and a Thakur, a feudal chieftain of a Raj, one of the hundreds of similar Rajas. Besides, he is a true friend of ours, who offered us his protection in our travels and volunteered to play the mediator between us and the suspicious, uncommunicative Hindus. Beyond all this, we know absolutely nothing about him. It is true, though, that I know a little more than the others; but I have promised silence, and silent I shall be. But the little I know is so strange, so unusual, that it is more like a dream than a reality.”

A good while ago, more than twenty-seven years, I met him in the house of a stranger in England, whither he came in the company of a certain dethroned Indian prince. Then our acquaintance was limited to two conversations; their unexpectedness, their gravity, and even severity, produced a strong impression on me then; but, in the course of time, like many other things, they sank into oblivion and Lethe. About seven years ago he wrote to me to America, reminding me of our conversation and of a certain promise I had made. Now we saw each other once more in India, his own country, and I failed to see any change wrought in his appearance by all these long years. I was, and looked, quite young, when I first saw him; but the passage of years had not failed to change me into an old woman. As to him, he appeared to me twenty-seven years ago a man of about thirty, and still looked no older, as if time were powerless against him. In England, his striking beauty, especially his extraordinary height and stature, together with his eccentric refusal to be presented to the Queen—an honour many a high-born Hindu has sought, coming over on purpose—excited the public notice and the attention of the newspapers.”

You can read here the little brochure about Helena P. Blavatsky which I once published. And here you find my annual blogposts about the White Lotus Day.

Inspiring Wisdom Stories – Lessons for Life

Wednesday, October 11th, 2017

The last weeks two friends sent me links to videos of Sean Buranahiran, a young and very successful Thai internet star who is talking about doing something good and living an ethical life. More than 2 million people by now have subscribed to his Facebook page and he publishes one wisdom video per week on his YouTube channel, with over 120.000 subscribers.

Sean Buranahiran, image extract (c) from a YouTube video

The videos are done with simple means – it seems either by himself with a mobile or with the help of friends. He teaches moral principles with catchy stories and in a language which people can easily understand. And he has a magic way of speaking which inspires and touches the listeners.

He is giving public talks, too, although I heard him say on a video that he doesn’t want to travel much any more since he gets headache – he had been a kick-boxer and got whams on his head… Above all, he speaks in a “down to earth” and humble way about things like having respect of others and oneself or about finding inner peace.

On his website, you find classes/lessons in which he shares his thoughts, techniques and personal experiences. He calls it IVM (meaning 4 – the Latin IV – and M, meaning mastering). The four M are:

1. Mastery: How to a master a skill. The higher you go the more humble you must become.
2. Mission: How to set life’s purpose and make a living from it.
3. Mindfulness: Make peace inside and out, then you will hear what is in your heart.
4. Manners: Having good manners will take you where money can’t.

He gives people the feeling they can do something for themselves and others – really a work of good will!

Btw., he speaks a lot about a practical philosophy of life but on the web and in his social media channels I found nothing about him as a person. Although he seems to be active in Thailand, he gives as his address L.A. (Los Angeles) – what does it matter for universal wisdom?

Healing Drug Victims on the Other Side

Tuesday, September 12th, 2017

Last Sunday my wife and I were again invited by Lilli, a Swiss-Japanese friend of my wife, for a lunch with some friends of her’s in her home at the Lake of Zurich. It was again an interesting get-together of nearly the same persons as in the last years – Japanese ladies with their Swiss or German husbands and six children – the children and the Japanese ladies with a delicate Asian physique – and clairvoyant in certain degrees.

Lilli told us about her recent tour to a number of big cities in the United States. Unlike in previous years, she noticed everywhere larger numbers of people destroyed by drugs, especially by crystal meth. Being a clairvoyant, she also saw great groups of departed drugged souls in a desolate disoriented condition. She saw that the deceased junkies were still craving for drugs and therefore they attached to incarnated drug addicts and often obsessed them.

One of the Japanese ladies who is working as a medium was contacted by a deceased Japanese artist / musician who is working to help drug addicts on the other side. Lilli and the others joined to lend support. They try to bring them to an institution at a serene place on the subtle planes they call “The Greater Lakes”. There the junkies get help and orientation about their state- often, they have not realised that they are no more in physical bodies. Where possible, healing of the heavy psychic and etheric distortions is given and also the many tattoos are removed – they have very bad etheric effects. When a certain degree of cleansing has taken place these individuals are sent to higher planes of light.

Lilli also works with “the opposite party” – deceased members of drug trafficking gangs. They were often drug-addicts themselves; they frequently died in some shooting and also are in a horrible situation. Lilli feels the two groups need to be kept apart and she gathers the traffickers on the subtle counterpart of a Pacific island far away from the continents. There are some monks on the inner plane taking care of them: “The monks themselves are not really pure beings but much better than these gangsters.” She described a bit the atmosphere there.
Lilli also sees groups of deceased drug victims from Switzerland on the other side. She asked my wife for help: “I cannot speak to them, they don’t understand English or Japanese – better you contact them in Swiss German…”

While the children and the husbands stayed inside we gathered on the balcony. The other ladies shared their impressions of the situation. Lilli: “Here in Switzerland you don’t see much of these drug excesses in public like in the States but there are quite a number of confused souls stuck on the other side with the horrible effects of their addiction.”

Although my wife felt that language is not a problem for this work, she tuned in and started with her work. The others joined. I inwardly aligned and in my way prayed for these lost souls. It felt a bit strange – knowing of the reality of the subtle spheres and of the effects of one’s actions which condition the experiences one will go through, there is nevertheless grace and help coming. After a while my wife and the others said that it was done – they did no more feel the presence of the departed ones who had been around seeking help.

Inside, the conversation took to other, more casual directions. Lunch buffet was served – “fusion cuisine” with items from Japan, India and Switzerland. Looking over to the children – I had seen them already the last years – Lilli said, “They have kept their inner openness. In school, they close down to be like other children. But their clairvoyance does not get lost.” A goal she is working for by training the kids from time to time.

On the way home, my wife said, “My work is not like this, with big groups of souls. I work with individual clients and their psychic problems. When some issues of groups of souls from the other side come up, I deal with them but this is definitely not my focus.” I replied, “And mine is none of these, although I know both are important.”

Two Stories about Kala Naga Incarnations

Friday, May 20th, 2016

While proof-reading and working on the German translation of the Sripada Srivallabha Charitamrutam – the biography about the life of Sripada Srivallabha (1320-1350), the first Avatar of Lord Dattatreya in Kali Yuga (I told you about it before), I work on an index of persons. The book contains numerous incredible events and there are also hints about future events and incarnations of people. Many of them already happened by now in previous centuries. When searching them on the web, especially in Wikipedia, I came across some extraordinary stories; two of them I would like to share here.

In the book there is a story of Madhava, a person who had died and was brought back after some time to life by a yogi, Palaniswami, through whom Sripada was working. Together with Palaniswami and the author of the book, Madhava goes into a deep meditation. In his subtle body, he meets Sripada who sends him to the nether worlds. There he encounters many Kala Nagas doing intense meditations and he speaks with two of them. (Kala Nagas are holy serpents living in subtle form in the nether worlds, Patala Loka.)

When Madhava later comes back to Sripada, the latter tells him: “One of the serpents that spoke with you will take birth as Jyoti Ramalinga Swami in the ensuing centuries. It will disappear also in the shape of radiant light. The other serpent that spoke to you will be born on the earth in the centuries to follow with the name of Sada Siva Brahmendra and demonstrate many miracles.”

When I searched Wikipedia I found that Ramalinga Swamigal, also called Vallalar, lived in the 19th century (5 October 1823 – disappeared on 30 January 1874). He was one of the most famous Tamil saints and also one of the greatest Tamil poets of the 19th century. There are interesting points about his life. Among them: “In 1867 he established a center for feeding the poor people. On the inaugural day he lit the fire of the stone stove, with a declaration that the fire be ever alive and the needy shall be fed forever… The oil lamp lit by him is kept perpetually burning.”
And further: “Perhaps one of the most notable factors of this sage is the claim that he supposedly attained a divinization of the physical body. He attained a total of 3 transformations. His first transformation was the transformation of his normal human body into the Perfect Body, between the supposed attributes of this body are total invulnerability to everything thus rendering him effectively immortal and impervious to any kind of damage as well as having the attributes of being omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient this body is apparently made of Divine Light. …
Ramalingar raised the flag of Brotherhood on his one-room residence Siddhi Valakam in Mettukuppam on October 22, 1873. He gave his last and most famous lecture, entreating his audience to undertake a spiritual quest and look into the “nature of the powers that lie beyond us and move us,” and asking them to meditate on the lighted lamp from his room, which he placed outside. …
On January 30, 1874, (he) entered the room and locked himself and told his followers not to open it. He said that even if they did open it they would find nothing… His seclusion spurred many rumors, and the Government finally forced the doors open in May. The room was empty, with no clues. The Madras District Gazetteer published by the South Arcot District in 1906 records his disappearance.”

800px-Vallalar

The other Kala Naga serpent, Sada Siva Brahmendra, had an even more astonishing life. He lived in the 17th to 18th century and was a great saint, a composer of Carnatic music and an Advaita philosopher who lived near Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. Read the article in Wikipedia. Here are 2 short events:

“While meditating on the banks of the Cauvery river, he was carried away by a sudden flood. Weeks later, when some villagers were digging near a mound of earth, their shovels struck his body. He woke up and walked away.”

sadasiva_brahmendra2

“Once the naked sannyasi was seen walking right through a Muslim harem of a Nawab. As a brahma-jnani who sees nothing but brahman everywhere, he would not distinguish between the different human figures which cross his path nor would he be distracted by the sights or noises that his environment may present to him. It was in this state of trance that he was walking along. He, the naked sannyasi, walked straight into the harem, entering it at one end and walking out at the other all the while walking through a maze of inmates of the Nawab’s harem. The news reached the nawab, he had his men chase him, they cut off both his hands as he was walking along, the hands fell off and … still he was walking along silently as if nothing had happened. The Nawab got scared, picked up the hands that had been severed, ran to the Sage and offered them in total remorse. The sage stopped his walking, the severed hands were restored to their place, the hands became normal and the sage walked away! There was no conversation.”

Mariela’s Dream – Aquarius Makes Visions Come True. A Video

Saturday, April 2nd, 2016

Aquarian energies don’t need to be consciously understood. They penetrate all life on our planet. They are linked to the element of air. They bring about expansion into space and make visions come true.

Here is a nice commercial of the South American LAN Airlines which is certainly not realised to illustrate principles of the Aquarian age. But you can easily see these qualities in the video. It is about Mariela, an indigenous girl from Peru dreaming to sing in the clouds – and her dream comes true for her and some friends with the help of LAN…

An Office Lesson – Story of an Encounter with Sri Kumar

Sunday, November 2nd, 2014

7 November is the birthday of Dr. K. Parvathi Kumar. He was born in Vijayavada (India) in 1945. So in India, they celebrate his 70th birthday, while in the Western way of counting, it is his 69th birthday.

This day has been named the Day of Good Will in his honour, for he has offered his life totally to the service to his fellow beings. If you like to read something about his life, you find some stories in the book “Master K.P.K. – An Expression of Synthesis“.

Below, I would like to share with you an occasion which has left a profound mark in my life.

kpk_fire_ritual

January 2002, I went for the second time to one of the international group livings organised by Master Kumar in Visakhapatnam. For me, it was during a time of deep transformations: I just was in the process of liquidating the psychosocial counseling centre for refugees which I had managed during more than 7 years. I had to dismiss the entire team and didn’t know if I also would soon be dismissed. For the time being I was working as a scientific collaborator and, with a small percentage, coordinating web publications. It was the time of Pluto transiting my sun….

The title of the seminar was “Meditation – A Way of Life”. One morning, Sri Kumar invited me to come with him to his office. I was very much thrilled. He drove the car himself. It was strange for me seeing him so “down to earth” – I knew him more as the brilliant lecturer at seminars.

At his office Soudamani, where he worked as a chartered accountant, he presented me to his team and went with me to all the office rooms. He explained what the individual staff members were doing and also showed me a little shrine in front of the building where they daily did a small puja before starting to work. And there was a beautiful Ficus Religiosa which was regularly decorated and worshipped.

Then we went into his office room and he invited me to ask. I asked him some questions about the beginning of his WTT presidency and of another difficult situation of the WTT he had gone through, and he very openly explained to me the backgrounds which I didn’t know before.

He spoke about the principles which guided him in his office work – that he never charged anything for the accountancy work he did – some persons, for whom he had done a lot of work just said “thank you” and gave nothing, others, whom he had just given some small counsel, had given a lot. Without expecting anything, he accepted what came in. He also told me how his father had chosen this job for him – he had other ideas but accepted his father’s advice and thus became a chartered accountant. And he told me how the three offices he was directing had developed – one in Visakhapatnam, one in Hyderabad and one in Chennai – with over 60 collaborators at that time – and how he was also committed in the formation of young accountants. And he described how he integrates his professional activities with his wife and family and the increasing demands from the work of the WTT.

I was profoundly impressed. With a meticulous, loving attention he cared for the many different dimensions of his life, without neglegting anything. I felt, this is really a role-model for me – integrating all the different planes. I think, over 2 hours had passed, when he drove me back to the Retreat Centre.

Four months later, I got a new job at the headquarters of Swiss Red Cross, where I became the head of the newly created Web Office and where I served for over 11 years. And in the same month, at the May Call Day seminar in Wengen, Switzerland, he called Sabine and me into the Executive Board of WTT-Global. I got plenty of occasions to learn integrating the different planes of life and points of view, and I felt a continuous support from his side.

Being Original. A Shaolin Temple Legend

Tuesday, October 28th, 2014

In 2001, at the May Call seminar in Iguazú, Sri Kumar spoke about the qualities Uranus. One quality is being original. As an illustration he told us a legend about the 36th chamber of Shaolin. It is a little bit different than the plot of the famous movie. The story is now also published in the book on Uranus – The Alchemist of the Age.

The story impressed me very much. My wife and I have often spoken about its essence: On the spiritual path, it is not enough to follow a set of teachings of a teacher. You have to apply them in your own life, develop something of your own, and then use it for the best in your service to society: “The path to the Truth does not lead anyone to the threshold of Truth. It leads up to a point. Thereafter one has to invent.”

Here is the story:

“In the East there is a great learning temple for martial arts, it is called Shaolin temple. The temple teaches martial arts in 35 grades. To pass through each grade one needs fiery aspiration, one-pointed focus, concentration and a very high physical, emotional and mental discipline. The percentage of pass from one grade to the other is hardly one percent a year. Very rarely a student stands up to the 35th grade of the art. Such one is a very, very, very special one. Only one comes out in 25 years successfully out of all 35 grades which are called the 35 chambers. He would be honoured by the temple (school) and sent out by the pledge that he would serve and protect the society. Such a one is considered to be invincible.

Once one young man through deep dedication cleared all the 35 chambers and he was felicitated by the chief for his ability and accomplishment. He was wished good luck by the colleagues. Thinking that he is invincible, he started serving and protecting the society. He was also honoured by the society for his martial ability.

It so happened that once he encountered another adept of martial arts and fought with him. The fight was a prolonged fight. But the stranger defeated him. The young one was perplexed. He went through all the training in the temple. He was perfect with respect to all the 35 grades. And he was declared invincible, but he was defeated. He went back to the temple, kneeled down before the chief, informed of his defeat in the hands of the stranger and sought clarification from the chief of the temple.

The temple chief smiled and said that the stranger was also a member of the temple, a student of the temple that went through all the 35 chambers. The student asked, “If that is so, we should be equal. How could he be the winner and I the loser?” The chief smiled again and said, “There is the 36th chamber, which is not in the temple, but is in the nature. Having learnt what is taught, your senior invented yet another art which you have not invented. He invented it working in nature. The 36th chamber is the nature. Go out into the nature and invent something of your own. Your invention comes from your origin. As original each one is unique. You too would become invincible, if you invent from your own origin.”

Such is the Truth. The path to the Truth does not lead anyone to the threshold of Truth. It leads up to a point. Thereafter one has to invent. This invention has to be deep into oneself until one touches the origin of one’s being. Once the origin is touched, the Truth expresses afresh. It expresses originally. All those who realized the Truth, thus realized and presented the Truth afresh. The way one realizes the Truth could form into a path for others to follow. But the path will not lead one into the Truth until one also invents. Invention is the means to ‘well out’ the original. Uranus encourages inventions. Once you are an original, you are unique.”

An Extraordinarly Disappearance: The Departure of Master CVV

Monday, May 12th, 2014

The most extraordinary person about which I came to know in my life is Master CVV (1868-1922). However, it took years for me to realise it. When I first read a book about him 18 years ago, travelling in the underground of Hamburg, it was a like a thunderbolt. It had a lasting effect on my life.

Today, 12 May, is the day of the departure of Master CVV in 1922. He said that it won’t be his death but his physical disappearing. He repeatedly demonstrated deathlessness and said that all who follow him will also experience deathlessless.

Below is a short extract from two lectures of Dr. K. Parvathi Kumar about the departure of Master CVV.

Master CVV announced his disciples that 12 May I depart. They didn’t mind because he demonstrated departure and arrival, 18 times. He demonstrated there is no death if you follow the path of yoga. You can gain the body of light and live eternally. To ensure gain enough trust, 18 times he departed for hours and came back. He said, “On 12 May 1922, I depart.” Disciples asked, “Master will you come back?” – “No, this time I don’t come back.” – “How can you leave us?” – “I don’t leave but you won’t see me in this body.” – “Is it final decisions?” – “Yes.” They were all in tears.

He said, “Don’t weep. You too can gain it if you follow me. That you can depart and you don’t have to die.”

They all gathered around him on that day – he said, “All who will weep can stay out of the room.” One disciple said, “Will you give me the garment so that I can keep it as a memento?” He wanted the robe of Master. He said, “I wanted to give you a golden robe, why do you want a cloth robe?” He gave it anyway. “Follow me, you too will get a golden robe. I am moving into golden and diamond robes. Even from those robes, I divert myself. I permeate all around the earth. And whosoever invokes me, I shall directly relate to him. And work with him to form the golden body so that you will experience there is no such thing as death. At 10:28 in the morning, I’ll depart.” And he did.

Before Master CVV departed he said, “Don’t burn me, sink me into the river of Cauvery, the Mother Cauvery will take me.” The family did not agree; there was the tradition to cremate. They did not see the grandeur of the father. No prophet is known in his own land, less in his own house. They did not give much credit to his wish. They prepared the fire, they lit it, but there was suddenly a torrential rain. The river Cauvery swell and took away the fire and the body, so there was no way to do the cremation. That happened in the early 20th century.
