“Visual Art by the Human Body”

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

A beautiful video by “Iran Hope” – floral images arranged with human bodies – obviously done by Iranians in exile, using for their channel the old Persian flag with the Lion. One blog says: “…fantastic visual garden where the flowers are people.”

“Shadow”, by Philobolus

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

A beautiful video from an experimentalist dance company called “Philobolus” about: “Shadow”. Here is the interesting website of the dance company, with quite some layers of impressions to discover. By the way, the shadow is a symbol of what is not – we see something we only imagine it is. The reality is the light, the shadow gives us the impression of an illusionary existence. Thus it is a very profound symbol for creation and its background of existence.

Lightful Music

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

Yesterday a friend from Sweden wrote to me:

“Me and some friends visited a private, small music festival during the summer solstice. One of the artists was Davide Swarup, who plays on a new acoustic instrument, invented year 2000. It combines rhythm and melody in a sublime way, and it goes straight to the heart. Listen!”

You can just open the site and listen, it goes on for a long time. It is a very beautiful, lightful, flying music.

There are also beautiful videos in his YouTube-channel. Look for example this video with Avi Adir and Davide Swarup “Live at Angsbacka Efterfesten” in Sweden.

“Validation” – Honouring the Qualities of Others

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

An Argentinean friend sent me the link to a beautiful short film about “Validation” in the multiple sense of the word – and of honouring the qualities of others and thus, spreading joy and inspiration. The style is a bit “American”, but nevertheless – enjoy…  More than 3.7 million views on YouTube.

What Motivates Us

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

“The surprising truth about what motivates us” – a fascinating video on purpose, working for free and giving things away. This is really about good will. You’ll like it, also the illustrations.

Documentary Film on Helena P. Blavatsky

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Yesterday a friend sent me the link to a 5-part Russian documentary film on Helena P. Blavatsky, the great messenger of light, with English comments. See also the booklet on HPB – Trailblazer for the Aquarian Age.

May Call Day Celebration

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Today, 29th May, is May Call, the festival of group initiation, which Master CVV initiated in 1910. Since then it is celebrated every year. This year’s celebration of the World Teacher Trust is in Núria, in the Spanish Pyrenees, where we have assembled with about 350 group members from all over the world for a week of group living. These annual meetings are always very inspiring (see my post from last year).

The last days we had a lot of rain and heavy clouds. This morning, like in other May Call days, the sky is blue without any clouds, and it is very cold.

On the occasion of this celebration I would like to humbly publish the second cycle of the “Images of Synthesis“, which have been done between February and May 2010. You can download the whole series with music as a powerpoint or see them in an online slideshow.

Social Media and Activism

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

I today was at the annual meeting of a group of web people from Swiss NGOs. The meeting was at the offices of Greenpeace in Zurich and about 30 persons from different NGOs attended. This year’s topic was the use of Social Media / Web 2.0 platforms like Facebook and Twitter for NGOs. Some of the organisations were quite active in this field, while others observed with a certain scepticism or did not become active due to missing personal resources.

After the presentation of some campaigns run partly on Facebook there was a lively discussion about best practices and difficulties with the work. In general it was observed that it is quite difficult to get people becoming active besides click-activism in a social media campaign. It is also sometimes difficult to reduce complex situations to 120 letters – the language has to be very concise and pithy.

In the afternoon there was an input of Peter Hogenkamp, a person who is professionally working since years with blogs and social media, as a publisher and consultant. He started with a video: What the hell is social media? summing up in a frantic way ten reasons why you should get involved with Twitter and the like. He encouraged the use with many examples, but his style was frantic like the video – the nervous style of this media-junkie

A similar input in this NGO group made me start blogging 4 years ago and discussions let me to start a Facebook page for my office and for the Circle of Good Will. Now I just launched a Twitter account, only to reserve the address, as the speaker had proposed – what I’m going to do with it time will show.

Images’ Journey

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

With joy I saw this morning a video from an Argentinean group associated with the WTT, Escuela Claridad, where they were using the paintings I did last November/December and a number of the photos I had shared with some friends in January. So they went on a journey around the world – this being the intention of sharing them. Some more paintings have come since and some more are waiting inside for the right time. Below there is one of them.

Following One’s Inner Call

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

A touching video-story of a deaf and mute girl who learns to play the violin against all difficulties. Though it is an advertisement film, it is subtle and inspiring.
