The Dark Mother and the Consequences of Blindness

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Sunday evening we entered into the month of Scorpio, a most profound sign. When thinking of how to visualise its energies I reflected on its qualities, and then saw photos of the burning oil platform “Deepwater Horizon” which has sank last year in the Gulf of Mexico – an emblematic signal of Scorpionic qualities. In Spiritual Astrology Master EK says: “Secrecy is the key-note of the sign. Oil mines and hidden treasures are linked up with Scorpio. Wherever there is no possibility for the sunshine to enter and wherever there is constant darkness, there is the influence of Scorpio.”

And then he continued mentioning toxic substances being ruled by Scorpio and said: “Disappearance is the activity of this sign and the house. The disappearance of the light of the soul, through a gradual fall into matter-state is the process that occurs here. Suspension of consciousness, due to the predominance of the material plane on the higher planes is the activity. Death, loss of consciousness, fainting and coma are caused by the influence of this sign.”

The form of the divine Mother related to Scorpio is Kali, and so I searched for representations of Kali which would fit with the picture of the sinking oil platform. There was one drawing which fitted perfectly. So I started working on the picture. I first arranged the details in Photoshop, then printed it on paper and continued with working on details and colours. Afterwards I scanned the picture and worked on further details of the composition. The last step is printing the image on paper and readjusting the colours to increase the intensity to its maximum. It takes several prints until I’m satisfied with the outcome. When I was painting in the 80ies I was always trying to get most intense luminous colours, but it wasn’t possible due to the materials I had. Now, with the digital processing the pictures get a strong radiance.

The painting “Scorpio – The Dark Mother and the Consequences of Blindness” shows extreme contrasts – The fire-fighting vessels in front of the burning oil platform, then, in the fire, the Goddess Kali appearing in the dark circle, holding a caduceus topped by a skull. The destructions only touch the outer form, the inner truth remains. Man, however, trying to get the grip on the consequences of his greed, looses the game he started. Scorpio teaches through deep transformations transiting through death to a higher plane of understanding. May man learn through the self-generated catastrophes to respect nature and to cooperate with it instead of exploiting. You can see the picture also in the gallery “Images of Synthesis” and download a high-resolution version.

The Beauty of Pollination

A sublime video about pollination – bats, bees, birds, butterflies pollinating flowers. The flowers attracting the bees etc. is symbol of the seeker being attracted by knowledge, collecting the substance for the honey of wisdom.

or “The Poetry of Reality (An Anthem for Science)” (The Poetry of Reality is the fifth installment in the Symphony of Science music video series. It features 12 scientists and science enthusiasts.)

or “Our Place in the Cosmos” – great pictures….

Bhutan’s Royal Wedding

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

Very nice impressions of the royal wedding in Bhutan on 13.10.2011. Dignitaries and well-wishers gathered at an ancient monastic fortress to see King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk marry his bride, 21-year-old student Jetsun Pema. For days before the wedding, monks held dawn prayer sessions in remote mountain valleys.

Dancing Through Deva Worlds of Light

Friday, October 14th, 2011

Extremely beautiful videos by John Banks – like dancing through the Deva world. Autumn Architecture Energy “strives to visualize all the interior energy and forms that I sense while experiencing the forest at the peak of Fall. I was not thinking this when making it, but it owes a nod to graphic novel techniques for showing energy as light and lines coming off of objects. I try to utilize the technologies in a way that brings out the character of a scene. It’s obvious, but I like to visualize that essence that I feel in a place. There is a sense of being inside a cathedral or an old castle when walking deep in the Autumn woods….”

Another video, Glow Temple “is the last in a series entitled the Journey Cycle. These short films loosely follow a dreamlike continuum of travels through a lost book. … Ancient alchemical writings move us along to find the key. The goal was to create an experience that would transport you without being specific, hence the unknown language.”

Images of Synthesis 2

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

A friend from Buenos Aires just sent me the link to a video he did with many of the paintings I made during the last 2 years (one painting, however, is from someone else). The text he is speaking are the “Mystic Mantrams” by Master CVV – they are very profound, I like them very much.

Some more paintings have come during the last weeks, they will be published over the next months together with the Lunar Messenger.

Earth Expressions

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

I just received an e-mail from a friend in the States with the announcement of her book “Earth Expressions” which I’m adding here:

“I’m happy to announce, after 17 mo. in the design and production of an artistic workbook… it’s finally printed and ready for the kids!  (ages 7 to 107!) Please visit:   www.earthexpressions.net
I’m grateful to the collaborators from many countries, and to all the supporters, including my daughter Diana who built the website.  Since the book has 50 crop circle photographs (plus the artistic exercises), in order to get the price below $15 – I had to finance 1000… so quantity shouldn’t be an issue!
If you would like to purchase a book locally, I can deliver or meet you, or mail from my house… Or, you can obtain one at Living Insights (6361 Clayton Rd.)… or buy one on line… (choose the most economical shipping rate offered).  If you have any problem, just let me know.
A book signing and talk-to-the-author event will take place at Mystic Valley (3212 Laclede Station Rd) on Sat. Nov. 19, from 1 to 4 pm.
Thank you!
In light and love,
Cathy

A Mantram Video

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

A beautiful video by Snatam Kaur: Govinda Govinda Hari Hari. Though not indicated, the sublime pictures must be from Gregory Colbert (Ashes and Snow) – a great photographer.

“Govinda Govinda Hari Hari” is a mantram of adoration of Govinda, or Krishna. A Spanish comment of the video says: Govinda is the divine boy inside each one of us: playful, innocent, mischievous, complete and absolutely adorable. Enjoy

This morning a beautiful golden light spread its magic and made things glow in a very special hue.

Through the kitchen window

A last sunflower

Acorns at the hedge
